Borderline is a completely free standalone download on Steam. It has no Steam achievements, supports 12 languages, and needs only a 2 GB install.

The basics
Is Borderline really free? Yes. It is a completely free standalone product with its own Steam page — no codes, no giveaway window, no paid tier. It stays free after launch.
Do I need Intravenous 1 or 2 first? No. Borderline is standalone and introduces its protagonist, Gideon, on its own terms.
When exactly does it unlock? The store page says October 2, 2026, and its live countdown is authoritative — at our last check it pointed to roughly 15:00 UTC (late evening Beijing time). See the release guide for details.
What platforms? Steam on Windows (Windows 10 64-bit listed). No console or Mac/Linux announcement exists — if that changes it will be dated news.
Is it multiplayer? No. Single-player only, with family sharing enabled.
Content and length
How long is it? Not published. It contains two full missions; the developer has not given an hour count, and the playtest's length stats were never released. Treat it as a prologue-sized evening, not a campaign.
Does it have achievements? Borderline lists no Steam achievements — none. The full game's store page does list Steam Achievements; for reference, Intravenous 2 shipped with 55 and the first game with 45.
Will my progress carry into Intravenous 3? Not announced. Nothing about imports or saves has been published, so assume nothing carries until the developer says otherwise.
How big is the download? 2 GB of storage per the official requirements.

Which languages? Twelve: English, French, German, Spanish (LatAm), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Polish, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. No voice-over language list has been broken out — text support is what the store confirms.
Controller support? Full controller support is listed, including DualShock and DualSense pads.
Is it gory? The developers' own content description: "violence, implied drug use, swearing & crude language." Plan accordingly.
The full game
When is Intravenous 3 out? Q2 2027 per its store page. Full game hub.
How much will it cost? Not announced. The first two games list at $19.99.
Should I wishlist both? Yes — wishlisting Borderline gets you the unlock ping on October 2, and wishlisting IV3 is the only vote fans have on the release window.
